AS Eupen vs Sporting Charleroi: Predictions, Preview, H2H, Lineup + Betting Tips

AS Eupen vs Sporting Charleroi
Belgium – First Division A
Date: Wednesday, 24 January 2018
Kick-Off at 19:30 UK
Venue: Stadion am Kehrweg (Eupen).

Sporting Charleroi are definitely the most pleasant surprise in this term of First Division A. They seem competitive to the likes of Anderlecht ahead of whom they have a two-point cushion at the second place at the moment, while Club Brugge seem beyond the reach sitting nine points above at the very top of the league standings.

The Zebras have successfully recovered from a demolishing 5-1 defeat in the cup tie with Club Brugge by beating Royal Excel Mouscron 2-0 at home last weekend. They will have a nice chance to build on the two-win run in the First Division A on Wednesday when they travel to Stadion am Kehrweg to take on the league’s rock-bottomed team AS Eupen.

Felice Mazzu’s men will, however, have to work hard to get the spoils from this trip since AS Eupen showed a decent attacking display in weekend’s narrow last-gasp loss away at Standard Liege (3-2). Overall, the hosts have improved their performances since Claude Makelele took charge in November and they’ve ended the year with a 1-0 home win over Waasland-Beveren.

Nonetheless, Makelele will be without his top scorer M’Baye Leye who was sent off after netting one of team’s two goals in the mentioned 3-2 loss at Standard Liege on Saturday. The striker from Senegal will thus be suspended for this match which is a massive handicap for the French manager.

AS Eupen vs Sporting Charleroi: Head-to-head

Charleroi lead the head to head tie by three wins, but they’ve only managed to leave Stadion am Kehrweg victorious once in five travels.

Each of last three head to head encounters saw both teams on target and at least for goals scored.

Charleroi have netted two or more goals in each of last five meeting with AS Eupen.

AS Eupen vs Sporting Charleroi Prediction:

Sporting Charleroi to win or draw

Club Brugge vs KV Oostende: Predictions, Preview, H2H, Lineup + Betting Tips

Club Brugge vs KV Oostende
Belgium – First Division A
Date: Thursday, 25 January 2018
Kick-Off at 19:30 UK
Venue: Jan Breydelstadion (Brugge).

Club Brugge made a roughs start to the year barely pulling out a 2-2 draw away at Antwerp after two stoppage time goals. Can they return on the winning ways and preserve the nine-point cushion at the top of the league standings on Thursday when they are to close the mid-week’s Matchday with the home clash against the bottom-half KV Oostende side.

The visitors have been playing hot and cold throughout the season, but they’ve opened the year in a promising fashion claiming a 2-1 win at home over Kortrijk at the weekend. Zarko Tomasevic and Nicolas Lombaets bagged two early goals to open up the way for De Kustboys to snatch a three-pointer in front of the home crowd.

Backing up that win and getting the result at Jan Breydelstadion will, however, be a massive challenge for the visitors as they are to come face to face with the league’s strongest side on Thursday. FCB have been just brutal in front of the home fans where they are yet to drop points in this term of First Division A. This includes a run of 11 consecutive league wins at home for the team led by Ivan Leko.

The Croatian manager particularly be thrilled with his team’s attacking displays since Club Brugge have notched at least three goals in each of last six home matches. Abdoulay Diaby and Ruud Vormer have been the most lethal of Leko’s attacking options combining the total of 17 goals and annulling a rather modest campaign of team’s star striker Jelle Vossen who only has five goals to his name in 19 appearances.

Club Brugge vs KV Oostende: Head-to-head

The head to head stats also confirm Brugge’s domination as they’ve won 13 of 17 matches against KV Oostende.

FCB have won 7 and drawn 1 of 8 home ties against De Kustboys.

Each of last three head to head games have seen both teams on the scoresheet.

Club Brugge vs KV Oostende Prediction:

Club Brugge to win
